Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect a little info about how you use our site so we can improve it. We don't sell it, and you're in charge of what you share.

Who we are

We're Ragnhild Dahl Johansen and Alessandro Valera, running alessandrovalera.eu. Under data protection law, we're the "data controller," meaning we decide why and how your information is used.

What we collect

Automatically, when you visit:

  • Your browser, network, and device

  • The pages you visited before landing here

  • Your IP address

  • How you use the site: clicks, internal links, pages visited, scrolling, searches, and timestamps

We use this to understand what's working and what isn't, and to keep the site secure.

Through our contact form:

  • Your name and email address

  • Your message, plus anything else you choose to include (and any other fields on the form, e.g. phone number)

We use this only to read and reply to your message. We don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to. Please don't send sensitive information (health details, payment info) through the form.

Cookies

Cookies are tiny files saved on your device when you visit a website. We use two kinds:

Want to see what's on your device? Here's how. You can also manage or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Squarespace, our hosting platform and analytics provider, which also stores form submissions. See Squarespace's Privacy Policy

  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

Some providers may be based outside the EU/EEA. When that happens, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Why we're allowed to use your data

  • Your consent: for analytics cookies (you can withdraw it any time).

  • Legitimate interest: for keeping the site secure and working.

  • Your request: for replying to messages you send through the form.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete, restrict, or take a copy of your data, and you can withdraw consent whenever you like. Email [email address] and we'll respond within [30 days]. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Spain, that's the AEPD (aepd.es).
